Janet Wilson over at Lucasville Legends contacted me earlier this month after seeing some of my photos on Flickr of the Lucas Oil Pitts biplane flown by Michael Wiskus. She was interested in using some of those photos in her upcoming children’s book.

After looking over several images that I sent her, she selected the one pictured here for the title page of her book.

This situation demonstrates the power of using good keywords for filenames, titles, and tags when posting images to photo-sharing sites like Flickr. Had I used the default image filename and not included any good keywords as tags, there is no way Janet would have ever found my images.

So…use keywords in your image filename when possible and always use keywords in your titles and in the tags section.
