In an effort to increase readership and drive community involvement, I’ve decided to rebrand what use to be called “Wes Gibson Photography” blog. I am happy to introduce the new name and domain “Digital Photography Mastery.”
Going forward, “Digital Photography Mastery” will be filled with tips and techniques for beginner and intermediate-level amateur photographers. Its goal is to help you along your journey in becoming a better photographer and in creating those once-in-a-lifetime images.
In the future, you can expect to see before and after comparisons demonstrating the effects of good composition, lighting, camera settings, and shooting techniques. I will also be giving you occasional equipment and book reviews. And, I will be scouring the Internet’s photography community looking for interesting stories, videos, and links to share with you.
I invite everyone to join in on the discussions and share their opinions. Even though this site is called Digital Photography Mastery, I believe that photography is an endless journey of discovery and can never be truly mastered. I’m sure that I will learn as much from your comments and experiences as you will hopefully learn from mine.
Thanks for the input Tim. I’m constantly tweaking this site. Sometime in the not too distant future, I will be getting a custom designed theme for it. I did plan on getting a theme with a photo at the top.
My rebrand is getting a lot more attention. I’ve picked up many new subscribers already, and I will be introducing a new guest blogger in the near future.
Wes, I have been studying blogs for over a year and a half. My legs do not work the same way people our age does. I have to rely on the internet to do most of my marketing for me. One thing that I have learned about blogging is that photos say much more than prose. I would highly encourage you to add one of your photos, tastefully, to either the header or top of the sidebar, above the fold. I also suggest that you set up a board on Pinterest with your photos. Both can help get the word out that your blog is something worth seeing. (If you are going to place a photo on your blog, don’t forget to use the “Alternate Text” and “Description” boxes. Google cannot see your photo to “crawl” it for the search engines but it can read the words you put as Alternate Text and Descriptions.
I have “Stumbled” your site. I do not know how much good it will do for you. My internet influence is barely measurable.
